ACTION ASPHALT IS A FULL-SERVICE
Concrete Contractor
THAT SPECIALIZES IN NEW CONCRETE PROJECTS...
...as well as the maintenance of concrete surfaces. We can accommodate any size project for retail and commercial properties, municipal and organizational developments, and other client types.
We always advise potential clients, whether they work with us or someone else, to ask questions like the following:
We understand the importance of minimizing interruptions to your operations.
We provide property managers or business operators with schedules and detailed maps of our planned work at least two weeks in advance, so that employee vehicles can be cleared out and temporary signage installed to guide visitors to alternate paths of access.
Concrete work is a dirty job. But it can still be performed in a way that protects your reputation.
Our clients have come to appreciate the difference between a run-of-the-mill concrete contractor, and comprehensive concrete installation service. We work tirelessly to make our clients—property managers, landlords, and business owners—look good, with personnel who are courteous, neat, and clean, and equipped with all necessary safety gear. When we work for you, we understand that we represent you.
When is it necessary to have concrete replaced?
Typically, our clients call us when walkways, driveways, or curbs are showing visual signs of deterioration, such as cracks, surfaces becoming rough and uneven, or even pieces breaking off.
There are a variety of reasons that concrete deteriorates. Usually, it comes down to time and use. But regardless of the cause, by the time that deterioration becomes obvious, you are likely long past due for repair work. The worst damage often begins below the surface, with moisture seeping into cracks and gaps in concrete surfaces, causing erosion of underlying substrate and soil. This places stress on concrete surfaces, as they no longer have proper support. Instead of underlying materials taking the weight of passersby and vehicles, the concrete itself bears an ever-increasing amount of the strain, resulting in the cracks and potholes that lead property managers and owners to call us.
If you can catch the signs of concrete breakdown early, it may be possible to repair only isolated sections of the most damaged concrete. But if damage is extensive, it may be necessary to entirely replace larger sections.

Are any special products used in our cement installations?
In our industry, the products used don't vary much from contractor to contractor. However, any reputable concrete contractor should be able to tell you where they source their materials from, the additives they use, and so on. This information may not factor into your decision making, but always choose a concrete installer who knows their products inside and out. If you have any questions, just ask!
How is concrete reinforced?
Concrete is typically reinforced in one or more ways. Additives can be incorporated into the mix, or a higher cement ratio used. Secondly, the installation of proper base rock underneath will provide necessary support. Lastly, rebar can be installed prior to pouring to lend additional support.
How is the impact on client operations minimized?
An experienced concrete installer understands the importance of planning. They should be able to provide you with a work plan and timeline, as well as a map of alternate access routes and parking areas, and a description of how they will accommodate you and your customers.
What's the best way to ensure getting quality concrete work?
Take the time to get multiple quotes, compare details, and look for clues that a contractor might prioritize profit margin over quality. One of the biggest reasons concrete prematurely breaks down is cutting corners during installation, such as by laying 3” of concrete where 4" is called for and pocketing the difference.
Ask for references and check out a contractor's previous work to ensure that it's held up over time.
How long does concrete work take?
The actual time of installation can vary, depending on the job. A minor repair may require a couple of days, while a full install can take a week or more, or even months for very large jobs. If you need immediate assistance, contact us for more information.
