Action Asphalt & Concrete was selected by the United States Postal Service to complete a multi-faceted accessibility and site improvement project at their San Mateo location on South Delaware Street. With a need for ADA compliance and functional upgrades, our team provided a complete package of civil improvements while maintaining operational flow at the facility.
The project began with trenching for new electrical conduit, allowing for upgraded site lighting and signage systems. Following the trenching, we performed asphalt grinding and patch-back to restore the pavement and eliminate hazards.
To ensure compliance with ADA standards, our crew formed and poured new concrete access ramps, carefully sloped and finished to meet required grades. These improvements significantly enhanced customer and employee accessibility.
As part of the project scope, steel bollards were installed in key areas for added pedestrian protection. We also poured concrete pads to support new parking lot light poles, enhancing site safety and nighttime visibility.
Inside the facility, interior concrete work was completed to repair worn or damaged flooring in high-traffic service areas, ensuring both durability and employee safety.
The project concluded with the installation of updated handicap signs and a monument sign, improving the facility’s overall wayfinding and ADA visibility. Every element of this project was completed by Action Asphalt & Concrete, on time and in compliance with USPS and state construction standards.
